Mortuary Arts, Kansas State Board of (KSBMA)

The Kansas State Board of Mortuary Arts was originally known as the Kansas State Board of Embalming, which was established May 1907. In 1985 the name was changed to the Kansas State Board of Mortuary Arts. The agency mission is to ensure that licensees perform their professional services in a manner providing maximum protection of the health, safety and welfare for the people of Kansas. Additionally, the mission is to inform the public of the laws and options available to them when dealing with the funeral profession.
